Treatment Process
The pretreated water is supplied with natural acidification to the acidification tank where it is mixed to assure homogeneous integration of the liquid contents. The water is then pumped into a conditioning tank in which the pH-value and nutrients are regulated.
In the anaerobic treatment step, the water passes through a bed of granular biomass in the Biobed® EGSB reactors where the conversion of COD takes place. The design COD removal efficiency is 75%. Surplus biomass, produced in the treatment process, is discharged to the sludge tank.
